SLiCE Staff Bios

Pam Sampson

The Director of Student Leadership, Involvement and Community Engagement provides visionary and administrative leadership for the SLiCE office, including ASCSU advising and support, student organizations, volunteer and community engagement programs, President’s Leadership Program, and co-curricular leadership development. Pam has served CSU since July of 2000. She has also worked in the Division of Student Affairs at The University of Kansas and The University of Missouri-Columbia. Pam is married to Jim and they have two children, Grant and Lauren.

Alexis Kanda-Olmstead

The Assistant Director for Curricular Leadership coordinates the President’s Leadership Program, a three-year academic leadership development experience. Alexis has served CSU for ten years and previously worked with the University Honors Program. She is married to Greg and they have two children, Abe & Miriam.

Christina Farhart

Christina is a first-year Masters student in the Political Science Department, focusing on International Relations and Public Administration. She completed her undergraduate degree at CSU in Political Science and Psychology in the spring of 2007.

Jen Johnson

The Assistant Director for Volunteer Programs provides leadership for Alternative Breaks, Key Service, AmeriCorps; teaches in the President’s Leadership Program, provides oversight to the volunteer and community engagement programs. Jen loves running, costumes, documentary films, riding her tandem bike, and hanging out with her partner, Chris, and wonder dog, Euchre.

Keith Colton

The Program Coordinator for Volunteer and Community Engagement provides leadership to Cans Around the Oval, PRAXIS, Special Needs Swim, CSUnity, and TGIF. Keith is an alumni of Colorado State University and has been a member of the Fort Collins Community for 8 years. Keith loves the backcountry, flyfishing, skiing, playing music, spending time with his family and just sitting around a campfire. He is passionate about community involvement, helping others, listening, and learning about the world around us.

Rachel Gramig

Rachel is a current graduate student pursuing a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at CSU. She is originally from Louisville, Kentucky, and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She is an AmeriCorps alumni and has been involved in community service and environmental conservation for over 16 years.

Bobby Kunstman

The Assistant Director for Co-Curricular Leadership provides leadership for the student organizations office and leadership opportunities that are not academic based (which include the REAL Experience, Student of Color Leadership Retreat, Campus Step-Up and LeaderShape).  He also serves as an advisor to the Leadership Development Department within ASCSU. Bobby hails from Miami, Florida. He completed his undergraduate degree at Florida State University in Environmental Studies and his master’s degree in Leadership and Ethics Studies at North Central College. He loves the outdoors, movies, music, concerts, and much more!

Deanna Leone

The Program Coordinator for Student Organizations provides leadership to student organizations through the registration and recognition processes, event planning support, officer orientations; student involvement fairs, and Student Organizations and Advisors Recognition (SOAR); chairs the Diversity & Travel Grant committees; and serves as the advisor to ASCSU’s Student Funding Board. Deanna earned her Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration from UMass, Amherst. She has also worked at the Art Institute of Seattle, Boston University, and Outward Bound Philadelphia before coming to CSU in June 2006; she enjoys hiking, biking, and time with family.

Jacob Blumberg

Jake is a recent graduate of Colorado State University. Originally from Colorado Springs, Jake is a third generation CSU Ram. Jake works as a program coordinator with Shades of Promise, the President’s Leadership Program, and SLiCE marketing outreach efforts. Jake’s goal in life is to positively impact at least one person everyday, and he looks forward to all the great events SLiCE has to offer this year.

Kyle Carpenter

Kyle is a second year graduate stduent in the Student Affairs and Higher Education program at CSU. He is originally from Owosso, Michigan. He studied philosophy and political science at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. After having been an Assistant Residence Director in Allison hall last year, Kyle is excited to be working with Co-Curricular Leadership programs in the SLiCE office this year.

Emily Ambrose

Emily is a first-year graduate student in the Student Affairs in Higher Education program. She attended the University of Colorado at Boulder for her undergraduate studies, before traveling through North America for a year as a collegiate leadership consultant. She is thrilled to be working with the President’s Leadership Program in the SLiCE office.Brett Rundle Brett is a first year graduate student in the Student Affairs and Higher Education program at CSU. He works with Volunteer Programs and also advises ASCSU. He is originally from Hoyt, Kansas and he graduated from Kansas State University with degrees in Marketing and Finance. Upon graduation from K-State in 2006, Brett worked for his fraternity as a Leadership Consultant for two years.

Michele Frick

As the lead Account Technician in the SLiCE office, Michele manages all SLiCE and ASCSU accounts and expenditures, provides all necessary training and supervises other Accountant Technicians and student reception staff. Michele has been working at CSU for 19 years. She is married and loves her beagle, Bowser, and spending time with family and friends.

Laura Fagan

As the Account Technician II, Laura provides leadership with financial document processing, payroll for ASCSU and RHA, contract support for student organizations, ACARD oversight, and Alternative Break travel coordination. Laura has worked at CSU for over six years. She is married and has two daughters.

Diana Saylor

As an Accounting Tech I for the SLiCE office, Diana assists with the financial processing of documents for student organizations. She is new to Colorado State University and was previously employed by the State in Durango. Diana is married to John and has a cute English foxhound that doesn't know she is a dog.

Kim Grubbs

As the Administrative Assistant to ASCSU, Kim provides support and advisement to student government leaders in three branches, including executive, legislative, and judicial. Kim has been at CSU for ten years. She is married to Dave and has two daughters, Morgan and Kiley.

Clayton Hurd

As the Director for Service Learning, Clayton now serves in the TILT office, reporting to Michael Palmquist and resides in Clark A74. Clayton’s area and SLiCE will continue to collaborate on several critical projects including Key Service, building partnerships with community agencies and the Service Learning Advisory Board.
