Exceptional Organization
Exceptional Organization Awards recognize student organizations that display overall excellence and achievement by incorporating diverse communities, showing strong group collaboration, utilizing positive leadership skills, and providing personal, social, and intellectual outlets for their organization, CSU, and the Fort Collins community. These awards are based on the quality and impact of the organization’s campus and community programming, their participation in other events, and their effort to recruit and retain members. Only one application for the Exceptional Organizations category will be reviewed, numerous applications will not be accepted. In addition to applications from organization members, nominations from individuals outside of the group will also be accepted. Judges will determine winners in each of the follow categories of Academic/Pre-Professional, Competitive Club Sport, Diversity/International, Fraternity/Sorority, Honorary, Political, Programming/Service, Religious, Representative, and Social/Recreational.
Individual Awards
Individual Awards recognize the leadership of students who successfully serve their organization while maintaining a commitment to academics. A nominee must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher. Individual awards will be given to an outstanding graduate student, a senior, a junior, a sophomore, and an emerging leader (first year student). An outstanding individual displays leadership through the following: management, vision, dedication, and guidance, in addition to their ability to follow others’ leadership. An outstanding individual has also left a legacy and helped guide the organization into the future. Self-nominations will not be accepted.
Marketing Awards
Marketing Awards recognize organizations that have successfully met their goals and objectives through careful planning and marketing. Group members display exceptional marketing skills through the utilization of innovative ways to market their organization and program(s) through a variety of media. Only one application for the Marketing category will be reviewed, numerous applications will not be accepted. Judges will consider each application for all applicable awards in the marketing category, including outstanding overall marketing, outstanding website, outstanding newsletter, and others if deemed applicable by the judging committees.
Programming Awards
Outstanding programming awards are awarded to organizations that have developed events of significant impact and outreach to the CSU community. The recipients reflect an understanding of CSU’s programmatic needs and work to meet those needs through innovative programs. In addition to applications from organization members, nominations from individuals outside of the group will also be accepted. Please note: Programming awards are given to programs that occurred between April 1, 2008 and April 1, 2009. If a program occurs during the first two weeks of April, a group may request a follow-up evaluation and still be eligible to receive an award.
Community Service
The Community Service Award recognizes organizations and individuals that work to meet community needs while fostering lasting support and relationships with a local community agency. Projects and programs show strong commitment to service in communities of varying sizes and needs. Group and individual nominations and self-nominations will be accepted.
Integrity Award
The Integrity Award will be given to the student organization and/or individual that has exemplified high moral principles or professional standards by steadfastly adhering to their individual or group's values.
Advisor Gratitude
The Advisor Gratitude Award recognizes Colorado State University Registered Student Organization advisors for a strong commitment to their student organization while building meaningful communities. Recipients of this award must be a CSU faculty/staff member or graduate student and must be nominated by a student organization member. Student Organizations with co-advisors can nominate both advisors on the same form.
