Advising Services

The Student Leadership, Involvement, and Community Engagement (SLiCE) Office enriches the Colorado State University campus community by providing excellent service to Registered Student Organizations working to develop:

  • Equal and diverse communities
  • Interactive networks
  • Group collaborations
  • Leadership skills
  • Personal, social, and intellectual outlets

Through these involvement experiences, students learn valuable life long skills.

Services

Registration and Recognition

Student organizations annually register through SLiCE in order to be recognized with the University and to gain access to services, resources, and other benefits specifically designed for Registered Student Organizations. 

Leadership Consultation

If your organization is having problems, looking for guidance to grow and develop, or in need of support with event planning, contact SLiCE to meet with a leadership consultant who will with your group one-on-one to provide guidance and aide in building solutions that best meet your group's needs.

Bookkeeping

The office maintains nearly 300 financial accounts. We also provide monthly statements, Authorized Financial Expenditure ( AFE ) and Intramural Orders ( IMO ) and Acard usage to the organizations who have accounts with us.

Travel

The office processes travel documents for student organization travel as well as guest speaker travel.

Resources

Resource Room:

A resource room is available for registered student organization use. The room offers computers, printers, paper, general office supplies, paint, etc. (see next page for additional info). General use of the room is free as ASCSU pays the usage fee for all registered student groups.

Fundraising

We can provide you with ideas and resources as well as help find a great location for your fund-raiser. We also have information on receiving outside funding (i.e. ASCSU, grants).

Leadership Development

A quick-tip brochure series is available on topics that relate to improving and maintaining your organization. We also offer of a variety of workshops and programs in SLiCE to develop your organizations skills and leadership.

Programming

We can help plan and develop events as well as brainstorm programming ideas. We also work with the Association for Student Activity and Programming (ASAP) in order to plan more effective events and programs.

The Source

The Source is an up-to-date guide provides your organization with the information needed to properly function in the University communities.

University Policies

We can provide you with publications that outline your responsibilities (i.e. posting, advertising) and a list of policies the University requires of an organization.

Canopy Reservations

Our office has 10x10x10 canopies for your organizations to rent for on campus events. Contact our office for prices and to make your reservations.

Annual Office Events

Student Involvement Expo

Our office promotes getting involved in Registered Student Organizations each semester at the Fall Student Involvement Expo and Spring Student Involvement Fair.  This event is free and open to all CSU students, faculty, and staff to explore and learn about the many registered student organizations on campus.  The cost to host a table to recruit new members to an organization is $15 per event.  

Officer Orientations

Offered several times throughout the year, Officer Orientation is a requirement for the president and treasurer of each student organization seeking CSU recognition.

Student Organizations Awards & Recognition (SOAR)

The SOAR program encourages and supports leadership and involvement at CSU by recognizing and awarding students, organizations and advisors with trophies and certificates for their efforts and hard work throughout the year.
